The analyst's work involves communication to some extent, regardless of the environment in which the analyst works. Collecting information, clarifying requirements, agreeing on deadlines, and so on—all of these are core analyst tasks that require communicating with people with different areas of expertise. Each team has its own interests, way of communicating and areas of responsibility. Therefore, it is important to understand each audience and find the right way to communicate with them: this helps to get the most out of the information received and perform the assigned tasks effectively. Using the example of a typical ETL analyst, I propose examining the main interactions with other teams. The talk will describe in more detail how an ETL analyst interacts with various project teams, suggest an approach to communication, examine the risks of receiving unreliable information, and explain how to mitigate them.
